So, I’ve wheeled for a LOOONG time with no winch, and It’s time I finally resolved that. When I started the bumper build project, I really wanted to finish up with a Winch install. So, I decided the only way I was going to make that happen, was with a budget winch. So, I ordered myself a Warn VR EVO 8s!
In this video I drill my bumper for the winch mounting holes (successfully ON THE FIRST TRY! :D) and fab up a fairlead mount. Folks, you don’t need to go out and buy an expensive winch plate, if you’ve got a little creativity and some spare steel you can make this happen. This things every bit as strong as the winch plates I looked at online researching my bumper build. In fact, it’s probably stronger than some of them!
